Tips to get the best Instagram photos in Madrid

  • Consider your angles: Don’t always shoot from your eye level. Experiment by getting down low or climbing higher for more dynamic shots and a fresh perspective.
  • Remember the rule of thirds, then break it: Use the rule of thirds to frame your shots (many phone cameras have gridlines that you can switch on to help), but don’t be afraid to break the rule for more creative compositions.
  • Consider the lighting: Midday lighting can be harsh and flat. Opt for early morning or late afternoon to capture beautiful shadows and textures.
  • The golden rule – have patience: Madrid is a bustling capital city. Sometimes waiting just five minutes can clear the crowd and get you the perfect shot.
