Travel Resources

I’ve planned and booked countless trips, from multiple months travelling in Australia to a last minute city break in Latvia (and plenty in between). I know how many hours it can take to find great accommodation, convenient flights and decent transport links. I also love a good deal and a fair price. Here I’ve combined some of the travel resources I use, to help save you time, so you can focus on enjoying your own travels.

Accommodation

Booking.com frequently offers a great price for booking accommodation. I also love the huge range of options available, from budget hostels to luxury 5-star hotels.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for on Booking.com, check out Hotels.com as an alternative. Their free-to-join member programme means you get some great discounts on thousands of hotels.

Activities and Tours

Get Your Guide have a whole range of wonderful things to do around the world. They also offer loads of skip-the-line tickets, saving your precious time so you can enjoy more of your destination.

Car Hire

Whilst I travel without a car, I know this isn’t for everyone. So, if you’re looking to hire a car, Discover Cars comes highly recommended by many travellers for their wide range of local and international options and great prices.

Cashback

Quidco is great for finding cashback deals on hotel sites and more. Search for the company you want to buy from, make your purchase and wait for your cashback to be confirmed. Use my link to receive £1 cashback when you sign up.

Ferries

Ferryhopper.com is an easy to use site. It’s brilliant for Greek island hoping as it shows you all the different ferry companies. As well as Greece, it also covers loads of other destinations including Italy, Croatia and Spain.

Flights

Skyscanner is your best friend when it comes to booking flights. If you’re flexible about when you can go and want to get the best price, use the whole month/cheapest month option. I love this feature.

Internet

Keep your information safe whilst using the internet abroad by getting a good Virtual Private Network (VPN). I use NordVPN – it is very quick to set up and super easy to use. A few clicks and you’re ready to connect securely even when using public Wi-Fi.

Transport

I travel without a car so use a variety of transport options when travelling at home and abroad. Here are some of the services I use.

Lime e-vehicles are great for getting you from A to B without getting stuck in traffic. Not to mention great fun to ride. Use my link to get £4 credit when you download the app and sign up.

Voi e-scooters and e-bikes are handy for zipping around city centres in no time at all. Use my link to get £10 credit when you sign up.

Travel Money

I find a Monzo card is great for travel as it doesn’t have any hidden exchange fees and uses the Mastercard exchange rate. It’s also surprisingly easy to set up. If it sounds right for you, use my link to receive £5 when you make your first card payment (in the first 30 days).

John Lewis Foreign Currency regularly offers a competitive exchange rate for changing money.
